Lloyd Alter

As a Canadian (although born in Chicago) I am often surprised by some of the comments I get on posts that I write on another blog, whenever I criticize the American Way of doing anything. There is this strange one-way mirror around the US that refuses to let anyone in the country see out at what anyone else is doing but lets us all look in and wonder what must be in your food. And the level of debate: I won't begin to tell you what it costs to send my kids to the best universities in the country or to go to the doctor, because you will all start calling us socialists and evil. However the statistics show, there really are other ways of doing things.
